A full field of
32 players attended the Raxx Weekly
Open 9-Ball Tournament with players
like Mike Fingers, Jerry Tarantola,
Shin Park, Frankie Hernandez and
George "Ginky" Sansouci.
The final match on the winners
side would come down to Ginky
vs Shin Park with Shin taking
the match by a score of 5-4. Waiting
for Ginky on the one lose side
was Frankie Hernandez. Frankie
would easily win this match up
by a score of 4-1 setting up a
rematch with Shin Park with Shin
taking the first match-up earlier
in the tournament.
Everything was rolling Shin Park's
way as he jumped out to a huge
lead of 6-1 in a race to 7 but
this match would be far from over.
With Shin running out for the
set and the tournament victory
he made a crucial error missing
a fairly routine cut shot on the
5 ball in the side pocket. Frankie
jumped out of his seat and easily
ran the rest of the rack to make
the score 6-2 and then ran the
next rack to make the score 6-3.
Shin appeared to have the victory
in hand in the next rack until
he left himself a difficult cut
shot on the 9 ball which he hung.
Frankie would go on to win this
rack and not look back winning
6 straight racks to take the match
by a score of 7-6.
